Dry cooling system
Also known as dry-closed-loop cooling; a technique that removes heat from steam condensate. The cooling water is circulated in a closed cycle between steam condensers where it receives the heat of the steam condensate and a dry condenser located outdoors. A fan is used to establish a flow of ambient air on the surface of the dry condenser so that the heated cooling water in the dry condenser transfers heat to the surrounding air before it is recycled back to the steam condenser.
