How does a charge air cooler work?

- Jul 18, 2019-

The heat of the charge air is not released directly into the environment through the air heat exchanger, but is released into the coolant. The thermal energy in the coolant is released into the ambient air by a separate coolant radiator. The system can minimize the length of the catheter of the charge air duct to reduce the pressure loss. Bolts are used to secure the charge air cooler on the cylinder head cover to the engine and directly to the air intake.
