The shell and tube tube condenser is the most widely used equipment in modern society. The structure of the equipment is very simple and strong. It is also very easy in the process of production. The capacity of the tube condenser is relatively large and adaptable. The condenser usually consists of three types: fixed tube plate, U-tube and floating head.


The shell and tube condenser is mainly composed of a shell, a tube sheet, a flower sheet tube bundle, a top cover, also called a head.

The circular shell is loaded with a parallel tube bundle, and the tube ends are fixed on the tube sheet.

The method of fixing the tube condenser tube to the tube plate generally adopts the welding method or the expanding tube method. When used, the top cover of the inlet or outlet tube is installed with screws and the two end flanges of the housing are used. Connected to form a fluid distribution chamber between the top cover and the tube sheet.


When the shell and tube condenser performs heat exchange, the cooling water enters through the connecting pipe of the top cover and flows in the tube. This path is called the tube process. Hazardous vapors flow in the gap between the tube bundle and the shell. This path is called the shell side. The external surface of the tube bundle is the heat transfer area.


Condensate recovery Whether condensing saturated vapor or condensing non-condensable gas, it is generally best to condense on the shell side of a horizontal condenser because it is reasonable in terms of heat transfer, pressure drop, and purge. .


The heat transfer coefficient of the horizontal shell condenser membrane of the tube condenser is several times higher than the membrane heat transfer coefficient of the vertical tube or outside the tube. At the same time, the non-condensate will not accumulate in the blind corner and cannot be easily discharged.


Cooling water inside the tube is easy to clean the scale. It is easy to ensure a higher flow rate in the water pipe, which is beneficial for reducing the rate of scale generation and increasing the heat transfer coefficient of the water film.


It is very important to further cool the condensate in the condensation system of the condenser of the shell and tube condenser. If the temperature in the condensing system is relatively high, the organic gas will volatilize in a large amount as soon as it touches the air. The inlet temperature of the general condensate is required to be 60°C or lower. Of course, you can add a separate cooler, but this will increase the cost.
