What is an air compressor aftercooler?

- Apr 19, 2018-

In brief, the air compressor aftercooler is a set of industrial equipment used to separate the components of the air, producing oxygen, nitrogen and argon. There are rare gases helium, neon, argon, helium, neon, helium, etc.

Specific process

Filtering system

Dust and filter to remove dust and mechanical impurities

Compressor system

Work on gases, increase energy, and have cooling capacity

Pre-cooling system

Pre-cooling of gas reduces energy consumption and improves economy. A throttling cycle with precooling is more economical than a throttling cycle without precooling, which increases the refrigeration cycle, reduces the work load on the heat exchanger, and makes full use of the cold capacity of the product.

Purification system

Explosion-proof, purification. Air is a multi-component composition, except for oxygen, nitrogen, and other gas components, as well as other contaminants such as water vapor, carbon dioxide, acetylene, and a small amount of dust. These impurities will come with the air into the air compressor and air separation device will come greater harm, solid impurities will wear parts of the compressor, plug the cooler, reduce the cooling effect. Water vapor and carbon dioxide will freeze and precipitate during air cooling, which will clog equipment and gas pipelines, resulting in the air separation plant being unable to produce. Acetylene can cause explosion when it enters the air separation unit. Therefore, in order to ensure the safe operation of the oxygen generator, it is very necessary to remove these impurities.

The use of solid sorbents is responsible for the differences in the multicomponent adsorption capacities of gas mixtures. Oxygen-nitrogen output ratio 1: (2.5~3.5)

Role: Adsorption of airborne moisture, carbon dioxide, acetylene, propylene, propane, heavy hydrocarbons, N2O and other impurities.

Compression and expansion system

In the expansion process, there is an output of external work. After the expansion, the internal energy of the gas increases, which requires energy consumption. This energy needs to be compensated by kinetic energy, so the gas temperature must be reduced.

Heat exchange system: to achieve energy transfer, improve economics, low temperature operating conditions.

Separation system

Nitrogen/oxygen separation main rectification column system composition

Air separation, the appropriate amount of expansion air (20% to 25% of air) can be directly sent to the tower for distillation. Nitrogen is withdrawn from the top of the lower tower or under the top of the condensing evaporator. After reheating, it enters the nitrogen turbine expander. After being cooled by the expander, it is exported or vented as a product.
