The structure of brine evaporator and horizontal shell-tube condenser is basically similar to that of the shell-tube evaporator and dry type evaporator. Horizontal shell-and-tube evaporator is widely used in closed brine circulation system.
Its main features are: compact structure, good contact between liquid and heat transfer surface, high heat transfer coefficient. However, it needs to be filled with a large number of refrigerants, the liquid column on the evaporation temperature will have a certain impact. When the brine concentration decreases or the salt water pump stops for some reason, the brine is frozen in the tube. If the refrigerant for Freon, the Freon dissolved in the lubricant is difficult to return to the compressor. In addition, the cleaning needs to stop working. The main difference between dry Freon evaporator is that the refrigerant is flowing in the tube and the coolant is flowing outside the tube. After throttling the Freon liquid enters the evaporator from the lower part of the side end cover, after several processes from the top of the end cover, the refrigerant evaporates in the tube with the flow, so the wall has a portion of the vapor, so the heat transfer effect is not as full as the liquid type. However, it has no liquid column to the evaporation temperature, and because the Freon flow rate is higher (≥4m/s), the return oil is better. In addition, the risk of freezing is mitigated by the fact that the tube is filled with a large amount of coolant. The refrigerant in this evaporator is filled with liquid-filled 1/2~l/3 or less, so it is called "dry-type evaporator".
